My name is Baden Schaff. I’m a PGA instructor and I have been giving golf lessons for over 15 years. I have traveled the world, working with leading golf coaches and teaching thousands of students. I’m also a contributing writer for Golf.com.

One thing I’ve realized after teaching students all around the world is that traditional golf instruction just doesn’t work!

As a coach, I would stand on the range for hours, helping a parade of students.  Even if every one of my students improved by the end of their lesson, I knew one sobering fact. Almost everything I taught them would be forgotten by the next lesson.

Swing changes are hard. And the longer you’ve played, the harder it is to make permanent changes!

If you’ve struggled to improve your game and you aren’t seeing the progress you want, it’s not your fault.

It is too easy to get on the course, struggle with your swing changes, and then revert to what feels natural. Your old swing habits are very hard to break.

And if you don’t have a coach looking at your swing every few days, your grip, setup and swing will all change subtly without you noticing it.

This happens to the best golfers in the world. That’s why they have coaches constantly working with them to keep their games in top shape.

After teaching thousands of students, I saw a clear pattern with which students progressed the fastest.

And guess what – it wasn’t the most athletic students or the most naturally gifted who improved the most.

It wasn’t even the students who worked the hardest and practiced the most …

Practice does not make perfect in golf. I see way too many golfers at the range who spend hours hitting balls and practicing. But if you’re working on the wrong things, you’re just training yourself to do the wrong things on the course!

The students who progressed the fastest were the ones who took lessons most frequently with me.

They didn’t get lost experimenting on the latest tip they heard about on YouTube. They had a clear plan, knew what to work on each week, and they made steady progress.

The reason you aren’t improving as quickly as you want is because you aren’t getting constant feedback from a world-class coach who knows your game.

If you had a coach who could take a look at your swing once every week, just imagine how much better you’d get.

Until now, it wasn’t possible for most people to afford weekly lessons, because it would cost too much!

After I realized that the traditional model for golf instruction was broken, I knew it had to be fixed and that’s what I set out to do.

So I started Skillest. Skillest revolutionizes golf instruction by allowing golf students to get frequent feedback from world-class instructors at an affordable price.

How does Skillest do this?

We have moved the golf instruction experience online.

This means you are no longer limited to taking lessons from the local golf teaching pro who lives near you.

Because your lesson is online, your coach doesn’t need to spend an hour watching you swing. So they can pass the savings on to you.

And we’ve changed the model. Instead of buying individual lessons, you can sign up for a monthly subscription with a coach. A subscription lets you message your coach and send swings anytime.

Skillest is like having a world-class coach on speed dial!

Does Skillest work?

Skillest has over 70,000 students and hundreds of active coaches. Skillest’s top coach has given over 7,000 lessons through the app with rave reviews.

If you’re still skeptical whether online lessons really work, here’s what the New York Times had to say about Skillest:

“Even pro golfers have turned to remote learning. With coaches and players forced to keep their distance because of the pandemic, perfecting the golf swing went virtual. … Teaching apps to connect pros with their coaches – but also average golfers with experienced teachers – had been growing in popularity for a few years before the pandemic. But in lockdown, players searched for ways to get better. Because players were stuck indoors, away from other golfers and nowhere near a coach, this teaching technology slowly boomed.”
